MATCH PREVIEW: Home v Gloucester City, 16th January

Chorley head into this game against Gloucester City on the back of a comfortable 3-0 victory last time out against strugglers Corby Town writes Ian Livesey.

Last week’s win in front of over 1,000 at Victory Park, propelled Chorley to eighth place in the Vanarama National League North, with 32 points from 23 games.

After a faltering start, the "Tigers" have had a mid-season revival and after four wins on the bounce, they are currently tenth after their midweek 3-1 win over Curzon Ashton. They are currently one of the in-form teams, having won 5 out of their last 6 games, 3 of the being away from home.

Gloucester City's current danger-man has to be Lewis Hall, the former Bristol City winger has scored 5 times in 2 games.

The Magpies have never beaten Gloucester in their previous two attempts, losing both occasions last season by the odd goal in three, James Dean getting on the scoresheet, coincidentally in the eleventh minute in both games. Gloucester were the only team to achieve a league double over the Magpies last term, so we're hoping for better fortunes this time around!

Chorley have been buoyed this week with the news that international clearance has been received for midfielder Tom Field and Vinnie Bailey, both are available for selection for Saturday's squad.
