The first ticket for the Chorley FC 200 Club has been sold - with life coach Michael Finnigan flying in for a chance to be the club’s 2017-18 home shirt sponsor. Finnigan, who runs business i2i (Impossible to Inevitable) said he was delighted to support his home town team. He’s also been helping Matt Jansen’s men behind the scenes this season with motivation and given everyone a lift at The Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium.
He said: “I was born in Chorley and lived on Moor Road, very close to the ground. I could always hear the crowds as a youngster and was allowed to go to the games. My early memories as a fan were in the days of Mick Wearmouth, Ronnie Pickering, John Pearson and the fearless Graham Barrow. As a young boy, these guys were my heroes. I have been privileged this season to meet the board of directors, Matt, Jamie, the backroom team and players, working with them a little. It’s been great adding a little expertise and hope our relationship can continue to blossom for many years to come.”
He added: “I am a very proud Chorley fan and excited by the times which lie ahead for us. This team has something special, as have the people behind it and together we can look forward to more great days in the future.” Finnigan’s previous sporting triumphs include snooker star Jimmy White, the South African cricket team and Bolton Wanderers under Sam Allardyce. He is also close to Sunderland manager David Moyes and still works with business clients and has a 21-strong team delivering a range of projects.
