Club statement on yesterday's postponement

Everyone at the club would like to thank and apologise to all the supporters who made the long trip to Lincolnshire for the fixture against Boston United, only to find out on arrival that the match referee had postponed the game.

Boston officials had followed all the correct procedures earlier in the day by calling in a local referee to inspect the pitch and at the time it was deemed playable.

However, by 2pm the goal area at the York Street end of the stadium had started to harden to the point that it was becoming dangerous and would only get worse and the only course of action with player safety n mind was to postpone the game.

A new date will be announced in due course.

As a thank you to the fans who travelled on the official supporters coach the club have offered refunds or free travel to a future away game.
