PLEASINGTON Golf Club, one of the leading inland courses in the North of England, has staged Open Championship regional qualifying rounds, county matches and many other prestigious tournaments in recent years.
And it will host another big event this summer – the sixth annual Chorley Football Club golf day for the third year running.
But if you want to join in the action on September 7 you are advised to book your place early because the event is limited to 22 teams of four players comprising men, women or mixed.
There’ll be lots of prizes up for grabs – including a fabulous Nissan Juke car!
It’s been generously provided for the sixth time by the Magpies main club sponsor the Chorley Group who will hand the keys to the first player to ace the par three 16th hole.
And they have also put up additional prizes for the first players to ace either the 8th, 10th or 12th. Up for grabs at hole 8 will be a set of Taylor Made RSI irons and ghost putter; at hole 10 a three night holiday at Marriott Praia del Rey, Portugal; and at hole 12 a two night stay for four at Marriott Forest of Arden.
The format is the popular stableford system with the best two scores on each hole counting. There will be a three tee start, from the first, fifth and 14th holes which will speed up the pace of play.
Teams cost £370 and there is no VAT to pay! The price covers green fees, bacon sandwiches and tea or coffee on arrival, a two-course evening meal and prize presentation.
Extra guests for the evening meal, at 6.30pm, are welcome at a charge of £25 a head.
All you need to do to enter is contact overseeing Chorley FC director Jeremy Lee on 07774197303 or competition organiser David Birtill on 07850539110.
