PREVIEW | Blyth Spartans

Two of the in-form teams of the National League North face each other on Tuesday night as Chorley travel to the north-east to take on Blyth Spartans writes Harry Lyons.

The Magpies and fourth placed Blyth have won their last three matches, respectively, with the north-east club putting five past Boston United on Saturday. Chorley, who have impressed in recent weeks after a tricky start to the 2017-18 campaign have kept four clean sheets in their last five outings - the last in a gutsy 2-0 win away at North Ferriby United at the weekend.

Goals have been easy to come by for both sides recently, so a high-scoring match is potentially on the cards. Blyth boss, Alun Armstrong, has called on the home crowd to create a raucous atmosphere heading into the game, hoping home advantage will prove the difference. The visitors meanwhile boast an impressive away record so far this season.

Jason Walker will want to continue his good vain of goal scoring form heading into the match. The former Barrow man has scored three in his last two National League North matches. A certainty is at least one, if not both of these two in-form sides winning run will come to an end, in what will surely be an entertaining match under the floodlights at Croft Park.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm and if you’re unable to attend you can follow all the action on our Twitter feed by following @chorleyfc from 7pm.
