PREVIEW | Alfreton Town

It’s 11th vs 9th in the National League North on Saturday, as the Magpies return to league action and make the trip to Derbyshire to take on Alfreton Town.
Just one point separates the sides heading into the match, with Matt Jansen’s men collecting 18 points from their opening 12 league fixtures.

Chorley will be in a buoyant mood following last weekend’s well-fought victory over Ashton Athletic in the FA Cup third qualifying round, which was broadcast live across the BBC. Nick Haughton’s screamer in the dying minutes of the match ensured the Magpies safe passage into the final qualifying round to set up a home tie with Boston United.
In contrast, Alfreton Town were beaten comfortably in their FA Cup match last weekend, losing 3-1 to Northern Premier League Premier Division side Stourbridge. John McDermott’s Reds made it an almost impossible task early on, having been reduced to nine men in the opening 25 minutes after Tom Allan and Bradley Wood’s red cards.
Alfreton will be looking to gain a reaction following the disappointing FA Cup exit and it will be no easy task for the Magpies, as Alfreton boast an impressive home record in the league this season, losing only one match and winning four of their six fixtures at North Street.
The match kicks off at 3pm and if you’re unable to attend you can follow all the action on our Twitter feed by following @chorleyfc, and Facebook by searching for the Chorley FC page from 2pm. The supporters coach will be leaving Brindle Street at 11:30am.
