FA CUP PREVIEW | Boston United

The Magpies are back in FA Cup action this Saturday, hosting Boston United at The Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium, kick-off 3pm. It’s a big day for the club and our supporters as we are 90 minutes away from reaching the first round for the first time in 27 years. To ensure you have the best possible experience please take a look at the following information.

We’d like to welcome both lifelong fan Nigel Chadwick and Handlesbanken as our match sponsors. Nigel is known to everyone and supported the club since he was 5 years-old. Like the rest of us, he’ll be hoping for a positive result at full time. Julia and her team at Hadlesbanken work on Ackhurst Business Park. The company is one of Sweden’s leading banks with over 800 branches in six home markets. We hope both have a fantastic afternoon with us.

Match day prices are £10 per adult, £7 for over-60s and £5 for children aged 12 to 16. Under 11’s are free but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Military and Emergency Services are welcome at £7 when showing their ID. Chorley FC season ticket holders are all required to pay.

Chorley FC welcomes all supporters into the club bar inside the ground which is open from 12.30pm where there is a good range of drinks available along with televised sport. As requested by supporters we’ll be having a drinks promotion until 2pm - selling Carlsberg, Tetley and Strongbow at £2 a pint. There’s also going to be a new meal deal in place, with a hot roast beef barm plus pint for only £5. Of course, we can’t forget our new Chorley FC eggs in association with The Bees Country Kitchen priced at £2.50 each. We have snack bars open inside the ground offering a great range of food including the finest locally made pies and burgers, chips, snacks and soft drinks.

There will be a collection for Chorley Guide Dogs around the ground - please give what you can.

Striker Marcus Carver features on the front cover of Saturday’s latest edition of ‘Magpie Review’ - our matchday programme. Issue 7 for the fixture against Boston United is packed full of content, including interview with ex-player Mark Edwards who looks back on the famous FA Cup run during the 1986/87 season. We’ve also 20 Questions from midfielder Adam Roscoe. Copies are priced at the usual £2.50 and are available from sellers inside and outside The Chorley Group Group Victory Park Stadium, plus our recently refurbished club shop from 1pm on Saturday.

50/50 DRAW

Why not have a gamble on the match day 50/50 from one of our sellers. For just £1 it’s well worth a flutter! The prize at the previous two games has been over £150 so why not try your luck?

The club’s parking area at the ground will fill up early. We have an additional area at Rangletts Rec off Pilling Lane for all home games. The cost of parking within the club controlled area is £3 per car per game. You can park on the surrounding roads but please have courtesy for local residents. We do however, recommend the official car park.

As usual, our Twitter Man of the Match will be available for supporters to choose from a shortlist of four that are nominated 20 minutes before full time. All you need to do is visit @chorleyfc and pick a player. The presentation will take place in the main room in the clubhouse after the final whistle. Our sponsors Man of the Match will also be taking place afterwards in the 1883 Lounge.

The newly refurbished club shop will be open from 12pm to collect admission and hospitality tickets. We also have new bobble hats, scarves, mugs, badges and key rings in stock along with club shirts, caps, t-shirts, polo shirts and fleeces in stock so come and see our range.

Have you any match day dedications that you would like announced prior to kick-off or at half time? If so, why not email them through to: This email address is being protected from spambots.
