Rossendale United 1-2 Chorley 09/02/10

Tuesday February 9th, 7.45pm

The Magpies made it five wins from six games, moving up to eighth place just two points behind Warrington Town in sixth.

The game started with the Magpies having the greater possession, but failing to create any real clear-cut chances, with Steve Burke's attempted lob going wide being the best chance.

However on 21 minutes Chris Amadi was played through by Reece Kelly, and the big man out paced the defence and slotted home in similar style to Saturday's strike at the LSV.

Nine minutes later basement club Rossendale equalised following spell in the game when they battled their way back into the game.

With half time approching Reece Kelly was again on had to provide a clinical pass and Steve Burke raced through and slotted home over the keeper shoulder in spectacular fashion.

The second half was a cagey affair with Zac Hibbert being forced to block one chance when Stuart Howson has caught a yard short of pace, and the Dale keeper Tom Brocklehurst making a smart save from an Alex Porter curling effort.

Comedy moment of the match followed the referee stopping play to allow treatment; he then lined up Porter and a Dale defender for the drop ball and baffled both players when he through the ball behind himself!
