Chorley 0-0 Rossendale United 13/03/2010

Saturday March 13th, 3pm

For the second week running there were no goals at Victory Park as relegation threatened Rossendale United followed Woodley Sports out of Victory Park with a point.

It was the first time this season the Magpies had recorded back-to-back clean sheets, with Richie Branagan rarely troubled throughout with the defence protecting him well.

At the other end, the inability to find the target reared it’s head again.  In the first half the best chance fell to Lee Shillito who was put through by Chris Amadi.  His initial shot was straight at the keeper, but his second attempt from a tight angle hit the post and rebounded to safety from a Dale point of view.

In the second half Danny Nolan replaced Amadi and Chris Mason also bolstered the attack, but Chorley’s lack of attacking confidence meant that clear cut chances were few and far between, and when they came they were squandered.

XI: Richie Branagan, Chris Smalley, Jamie Nay, Stuart Howson, Wayne Maden, Krishnan Patel, Lee Shillito, Adien Kirbride, Steve Burke, Chris Amadi, Alex Porter

Subs: Danny Nolan (Amadi) , Criag Worrall, Tom Walker (Nay), Reece Kelly, Chris Mason (Kirkbride)
