Wakefield 1-4 Chorley 16/03/2010

Tuesday March 16th, 7.45pm

Chorley got back to winning ways with a commanding performance at College Road, Wakefield.

Right from the kick-off the Magpies looked a completely different side that took to the field in the previous two game; threatening the home keeper with every move.

Early chances came the way of the visitors with Chris Amaid hitting the bar and captain Wayne Maden having two attempts, the first an over head kick and then a swivel and shot attempt from the edge of the box.

Amadi opened the scoring on 24 minute when he strolled through the home defence and slashed a shot home.

Steve Burke went close with a header just before the break, but a matter of minutes earlier the same route worked when he nodded home a Porter corner.

Shortly after the goal, Steve Burke had to be replaced when he was knocked out following an aerial challenge from behind.  Thankfully he looked to be on the way to recovery at the final whistle!

Wakefield sprang into life after the restart and scored from a free-kick, but from here on it was all the Magpies and with a thunderbolt from Lee Shillito, which almost uprooted the goalposts as it cannoned off the bar and a second from Amadi completed the scoring.
