A goal from Jordan Stepien was enough to win this FA Trophy clash on Saturday.The game marked the appearance of the club's two mascots - Victor and Merlin - who were cheered on by another good crowd of 734.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn was among those watching on at a bubbly Victory Park.

The game was open affair and both goalkeepers Aaron Grundy and Quorn's Matt Nurse had to be alert in the first half.

A few words from Garry Flitcroft at half time did the job an Stepien scored after 47 minutes after the keeper had blocked a shot.

Live wire and sponsors Man of the Match Shelton Payne looked dangerous throughout and saw a free-kick pushed over the bar by Nurse.

However Quorn looked threatening on the break and had a goal disallowed late on for an offside.

It was a nervous last five minutes and there was sense of relief all round when the final whistle blew to mean there wouldn't be an unwelcome trip to deepest Leicestershire for a reply.
