Chorley secured their place in the end of season play-offs in this low key affair at Cedar Ridge.
Again injuries affected hampered Garry’s selection options, with Jamie Vermiglio and Tom Ince both absent and Dale Whitham was only fit enough to start on the bench. There was some good news though as Andy Teague returned to action in an unfamiliar midfield role.
Steve Foster made it six goals from ten games since signing from Salford City in 22 minutes, with an example of what is becoming his trademark finish, a chip over the keeper from 20 yards, but Garforth had to wait until the 91st minute for what was to be fair a deserved equaliser when Kelly tapped home at the far post from a left wing cross.
Both sides had other opportunities to score with Andy Russell heading over early on, then Tom Walker was alert at the other end to clear off the line following a corner.
Garforth could have equalised in the first half with two good chances. First a header from a free kick bounced down and then over the bar to safety then on the break they shot wide.
Into the second half and Lloyd Rigby saved well from free-kick.
Shelton Payne at the defence, bringing back memories of the start of the season, going through several defenders, but there was no end product.
Adam Roscoe was unlucky see a header hit the underside of the bar and bounce clear, then at the other end Rigby was relieved to see the defence clear the ball after he flapped at a cross.
With quarter of an hour to go, Garforth’s best chance of the game passed them by as a one-on-one opportunity was squandered.
With Warrington Town loosing to title chasers Skelmersdale United, we now cannot finish outside the top five; so it is about getting everyone fit and ready for May 2nd and trying to secure as home advantage in the semi-final by finishing second or third.
