Chorley 3-3 Nantwich Town - 09/10/2012

FOR the first time this season a Chorley match ended all square following a pulsating second half at Victory Park.

Nantwich Town, the league’s away day specialists took an early lead following a poor pass across the Chorley back four, with Kyle Wilson taking up the advantage to shot past Jack Cudworth on 11 minutes.

Cudworth then made a fantastic point blank save to prevent the visitors doubling their lead in what was otherwise a low key first half.

The second half was a completely different story.

Right from the restart the home side looked closer to their normal selves and Darren Stephenson’s deflected shot on 46 minutes levelled the score after Ciaran Kilheeney played him in with a back heel.

Nantwich regained the lead on 54 minutes when a shot appeared to loop into an empty net off Cudworth.

The Magpies drew level again on 63 minutes when a perfectly delivered Chris Denham freekick was headed home by Kilheeney.

On 74 minutes the move of the game gave Killer a simple tap in from 1 yard.  John Cunliffe, who had only been on the pitch for five minutes, beat several players on a mazy dribble the released Andy Russell on the left flank.  The big centre back did the best impression possible of Tom Ince to get to the bye-line and send in a perfect cross from which Killer who couldn’t miss.

However 9 minutes from time it was Nantwich’s turn to equalised as Mat Bailey’s close range header completed the scoring.
