It’s like the old question of the half empty glass, do you look on our current form as being three unbeaten or four without a win!
Tonight we recorded out third home draw on the bounce; following one from the 1-1 and 3-3 results against Oxford City and Gloucester City, tonight Leamington provided the opposition as we shared four goals.
A nightmare start saw the visitors take the lead inside the first minute when Dan Newton converted from close range following a low centre from the left wing.
Leamington held the lead for just ten minutes when James Dean converted from the spot following a foul on Chris Simm, but parity lasted only three minutes as this time a ball in from the right somehow trickled into the Magpies goal with Lee Moore getting his name on the score sheet.
Clear cut chances were at a premium, but both keepers had to put in some work before the interval; Ross Atkins saving from an Aaron Burns free-kick then Sam Ashton palming an effort round the post.
The teams appeared to be going through the motions in the early stages of the second half until a moment of idiocy from Jake Cottrell saw him red carded for decent. The sending off appeared to galvanise the home side and James Dean netted his second two minutes after the sending off, firing the ball home from 20 yards.
Ashton pulled off a fine same while Chorley had a shot charged down off the line from a corner, but there were no more goals in another stalemate at Victory Park.
