41 minutes played and Darren Stephenson found himself with time and space in the six-yard box but flicked his effort wide after meeting James Dean’s cross.

Stephenson let another opportunity pass him by shortly after, firing a shot straight at Nicklin after a good passage of play from the visitors.
A minute later and Bateson continued to be involved in everything North Ferriby did going forward, shooting from six yards but Ross was there to make a vital interception.
65 minutes played and everyone was left wondering how Dean hadn’t equalized for the Mapgies, directing his header wide from one yard out with no-one around him.
A few minutes later and Carver went close for the visitors, firing his shot just wide from inside the box.
Bateson doubled his tally in the 82nd minute, picking the ball up on the edge of the area before nestling an effort into the bottom corner.
Moments after and Bateson added a third, capitalizing off a poor headed clearance from Ashton, before rounding the Chorley stopper and tucking the ball into the back of the net.
Three minutes later and Denton rounded off the scoring for the Villagers, powering a bullet header past Ashton from six yards.
Into injury time and substitute Danny Emerton should have made it five when he raced clear with just Ashton to beat, but lacked the composure and fired over.
