Chorley new under 18 side's start to the season just gets better with their latest victory being an increadible eleven-nil win away to local rivals Bamber Bridge.
With the Floodlight League manager Chris Worthington make a number of changes from Sunday’s game, utilising the strong Chorley squad they got off to a fantastic start when captain for the night Ryan Farnworth smashed the ball home after 2 minutes. In the 4th minute Chorley doubled their lead as Callum Rigby scored his first goal for Chorley. With Chorley’s crisp passing and movement Ryan Farnworth made good room for himself and scored his second on the night to make it 3-0 after 11minutes.
Bamber Bridge were struggling to cope with the pace of Chorley’s play on the 3G pitch and after switching wings with Callum Rigby, Jordan Darr cut in from the left hand side and looped a fantastic shot over the Bamber Bridge keeper on 25 minutes to make the score 4-0. Into the last 15minutes of the first half and Chorley completely over powered their opposition as Callum Rigby hit a screamer off the inside of the far post to make it 5-0, then Nathan Young got his reward for his all round play when he made it 6-0. Ryan Farnworth completed his hat-trick to make it 7-0. Jordan Darr then scored 2 goals in 2 minutes to complete his hat-trick just before half time.
Into the second half and Chorley made 3 substitutions with Ryan Farnworth, Jordan Darr and Michael Laithwaite all making way for Alex Green, Joe Rolls and Tashan Morris. On 47mins Callum Darcy made it 10-0 with a clean strike and was then withdrawn as Danny Simm took his place. In fairness to Bamber Bridge they never gave up and continued to make every effort in the game to move the ball forward, but Chorley stood firm and went 11-0 up in the 66th Minutes as Nathan Young got his second of the night.
Joe Rolls unfortunately picked up a knock to his hamstring and was replaced by Callum Darcy in midfield and the game did start to go a little end to end but the Chorley defence stood firm and saw the game out to the end with again a very professional performance giving the NWYA manager Dave Lavery a selection headache for the weekend.
