A word from Preecy regarding the U19 BTEC's recent success

FOLLOWING the U19 BTEC sides' 0-7 win against Oldham Athletic in midweek, the side reached the top of the U19 Youth Alliance for the first time this season.

With that in mind, first team manager, Andy Preece wished to issue the following message following the outstanding run that the team are on.

"It has taken five and a half years and the scholars have now got to the top of the league for the first time.

An amazing journey for the programme from no wins in the first year, two draws were celebrated like winning the league then followed by two wins a year later. Those lads paved the way.

A steady improvement over the next three years, mid-table finishes with a fourth-placed finish last year.

The programme isn't about football results, it's about developing players and giving them a pathway through education.

It's still nice when you've been through the whole journey to see us at the top of the league.

It's some achievement considering how it all started... whether it lasts or not who knows.

Well done to everyone who has been involved over the past six years you have all played your part."
