CHORLEY FC can confirm that Murray Campbell has returned to his parent club, Burnley, following the expiration of his loan for the Magpies.
Having initially joined in November 2024, Murray had his loan extended through to the end of this month.
The 18-year old made six appearances for the club, slotting in to the Magpies' backline with ease in the absence of Mark Ellis and Harvey Smith.
Manager, Andy Preece had the following to say following his departure.
"Murray has been excellent for us. For a young centre back in our league it can be brutal. He has risen to the challenge and handled anything thrown at him.
A bit of a throw back, he's an old head on young shoulders and I'm sure he will become a captain at some point in his career.
A great lad, he's a real credit to himself and Burnley Football Club.
Thanks to Burnley for trusting us and Murray for his commitment and performances. We wish him all the very best for the future."
Murray had the following message to pass on to our supporters.
"I've really enjoyed my time at Chorley and felt it was great to gain experience and all of the boys were great with me aswell as all the coaching staff, especially the gaffer for giving me an opportunity to play games. Thank you again."
Everybody at Chorley FC would like to wish Murray all the very best for the future.
