CHORLEY got themselves back to winning ways on Tuesday evening, with a comfortable 1-4 win away at Banbury United.

The Magpies came out of the blocks quickly at the Banbury Plant Hire Stadium, an early sighter from 25-yards out was a sign of things to come from Justin Johnson.

Marco Rus had a chance to get Andy Preece's side in-front but couldn't convert the one-versus-one opportunity - though the visitors wouldn't have to wait much longer to break the deadlock, BILLY WHITEHOUSE tapping home from close range after some excellent initial play from Johnson.

Chorley continued to assert their dominance on the night and would double their advantage before the break, Carlton Ubaezuonu brought down inside the box and JOHNSON slotted away the spot-kick with aplomb into the far corner.

Banbury did get one back before half-time through KEN CHARLES, who were clinical in finishing off their first real attack of the opening 45' with a fortuitous header that deflected in past Matt Urwin in goal.

The second-half started very much in the same pattern of the first-half and the Magpies were unfortunate not to have a third barely a minute into it, Rus firing an effort wide after an perfectly timed initial turn to send him through.

HARVEY SMITH then went on to extend the advantage back to two goals, heading in smartly from Johnson's cross that was recycled from an initial corner.

Chorley continued to be on top throughout the remainder of the match and RUS did eventually get a deserved goal for himself, spinning his way through on the half-turn after an excellent ball to put him through by Mike Calveley.
