THE Magpies took another point on the road as Buxton clawed back a draw deep in second half stoppage time at a blustery Silverlands.

In tricky conditions, Scott Wilson was first to register an effort at goal early on – heading onto the crossbar from an Adam Blakeman set piece.

Both keepers had plenty of work to do in the opening half hour, but Harvey Smith made the breakthrough for the Magpies – a thumping effort from a tight angle after controlling a low Adam Blakeman’s corner.

The Bucks got themselves back on terms quickly after the break. Debutant Brad Jackson hitting an absolute pearler with the outside of his boot from range off a quick break.

The visitors responded superbly and on the hour mark Connor Hall picked himself up, having been fouled inside the box, and fired home his 14th league goal of the season from the spot.

Both sides continued to have chances as the clock ticked on, Urwin with a spectacular save to deny a Buxton header whilst Jon Ustabaşi had one of his own palmed away from Richardson.

It looked as though the Magpies had done enough to claim a third straight away win, however, there was a sting in the tail deep into stoppage. With 97 minutes on the clock, a quick free kick was finished off by sub Jim Simms to secure a much-needed point for the home side.

We’ve only got ourselves to blame for dropping the two points as we should have closed the game out, but it still a good point away from home – Andy Preece
