CHORLEY got back to winning ways on Tuesday evening, fending off an inexperienced Farsley Celtic, side by four goals to nil with Tom Carr (hat-trick) and Dubem Eze shining brightest among the four-goal victory.
With two minutes on the clock, Blakeman delivered his traditional long throw. After going through a few bodies, Mike Calveley struck the ball well and forced a fine save out of Will Brook in goal.
Blakeman then had the opportunity to deliver the first corner of the game, which Tom Carr flicked on with the back of his head from point blank range to beat Brook.
From the restart came Carr again. A fine ball saw the number ten with a chance to find his second of the game, but on this occasion, he fired just wide.
Not even ten minutes had been played when Carr would have yet another opportunity, thanks to some fancy footwork by Dubem Eze.
After Eze was able to beat his man, he slipped Carr through again, but Brook was able to get down low and make a smart save to deny the hosts a second.
Farsley would then get some breathing room for a few minutes before Mark Ellis would come agonisingly close to slotting away his eighth goal in six league games.
Thanks to some fine work by Jack Moore, who delivered a well-driven low cross to the back post, which fell perfectly to Ellis. With the form he is in at the moment, you would have thought the centre-back would have slotted it home, but on this occasion, he put it just wide.
A minute later, Kole Hall had a golden chance after going one-on-one with Brook. With the ball bobbling, the forward got his strike away, but on this occasion, it was the wrong side of the post.
Thirty-nine minutes on the clock, Blakeman would link up again with Carr again.
After finding himself one-on-one again, Carr made no mistake and doubled the Magpies lead before the break.
Following the interval, Chorley would be at it from the whistle.
Carr would have the ball delivered from the right side, and slotted the ball home from by the penalty spot to extend the lead to three.
Less than five minutes later and the Magpies notched their fourth of the night.
After Brook punched the ball away, Eze calmly volleyed it with the inside of his foot, placing it into the far corner.
From the fourth Chorley just looked to see the game out with Carr, Ellis and Blakeman making way following the fourth it saw the Magpies controlling and seeing out the game comfortably.
