THE club would like to issue the following statement regarding the departure of Chief Operating Officer, Craig Dootson.
Chorley FC would like to sincerely thank our Chief Operating Officer, Craig Dootson, for his dedication, hard work, and commitment during his time with the club.
Craig has made significant contributions to the operational side of the club and his efforts have helped to improve various aspects that will continue to benefit Chorley FC in the years to come.
While we are sad to see Craig depart, we fully understand and respect his decision to take on a new challenge at AFC Fylde.
Despite our best efforts to retain him, the opportunity presented by AFC Fylde was simply too strong to turn down and we support his decision to move forward.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish Craig all the best in his new role and we are confident that he will continue to achieve great things.
Although Craig is moving on to a new chapter in his career, we are positive this will not be the last time we see him at the club.
He will always be welcome at the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium.
Craig wished to pass on the following message upon his departure.
"Moving on from Chorley FC has been the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my working life.
I would like to thank the owners, the staff, and most importantly the supporters for making me feel so welcome at the club, but also for letting me part of what is a fantastic project that will benefit the club and the town for years to come.
There are many things that I am proud of, but the work that we did over the Christmas period is something we all should be proud of.
Yes, it was my face on the TV, or my voice on the radio, however, the work the staff did behind the scenes could never be replicated.
The reason it can’t be replicated is because they care. Chorley FC is lucky to have such fantastic staff and a group of volunteers that I have never seen before at any football club.
Nothing is ever too much - one message asking for help and four or five people would be at the club within hours.
Make sure you get behind Preecy and the lads, the atmosphere you create at VP can often be a game changer.
I hope I will see you all soon - in the National League (fingers crossed) and I am sure I will be in for a roasting, but I’m from Chorley so I can take it.
This isn’t a goodbye, it’s just a see you later. Doots."
