IT’S with sadness that we announced the departure of top scorer Connor Hall, who leaves us at the end of his contract to join National League Solihull Moors.
Connor scored a brilliant 46 goals in 105 games during his time at the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium, including three iconic FA Cup strikes in 2020/21 – our first round winner against Wigan Athletic, our second round equaliser against Peterborough United and our opener in the third round win over Derby County.
It goes without saying what a tremendous player Connor has been for the football club. I think we’ve been a perfect fit for each other, and at a time when injuries were holding him back we managed to keep him fit. He bought into the whole club and was very much at the heart of everything we did. This allowed him to build momentum and improve season-on-season.
We had a really close relationship, working together off the pitch. We turned down a bid from Kidderminster in January and Connor understood the situation, going on to play some of his best football afterwards. He’s kept me updated with his situation since the season ended, he’ll be a big miss on and off the pitch and we wish him every success for the future – Andy Preece
A big thank you to everyone connected with the club for making me feel so welcome, from my initial loan spell right the way through to now. I’ve absolutely loved my time at Chorley and created so many memories that will live with me forever. I wish everyone at the club all the best for next season and the future – Connor Hall
Many thanks and best wishes to Connor for next season and beyond – we’d also like to say thank you to Wildbrook CRE for sponsoring Connor throughout the 2022/23 season.
