CHORLEY claimed all three points at the Grant Store Victory Park stadium thanks to goals from Kole Hall, George Horbury, Kristi Montgomery and Momodou Touray.

The Magpies started the game brightly. Kole Hall and Tom Carr's partnership combined inside the first three minutes to give Chorley its first chance. Hall flicked the ball onto Carr, who chased well but was beaten by a well-positioned Brad James.

Scott Wilson then came close to the opener following a corner by Adam Blakeman. The centre-back directed the ball well, but James was there to deny Wilson again.

Ben Pollock then conceded a penalty thanks to some fine work by Carr, getting his body across and forcing a foul.

Hall then stepped up and saw his effort saved by James but, on the follow-up, smashed it into the corner to give the Magpies a deserved lead.

Following the break, Chorley came out firing; a fine save from James to deny Joe Nolan would be followed in by George Horbury, who deservedly extended the lead to two.

In the 74th minute, Spennymoor came close to halving the deficit, Will Harris hit the bar following a well-hit effort.

Two minutes before the 90, Kristi Montogomery got the Magpies’ supporters up from their seats with an absolute thunderbolt.

After winning the ball in the middle of the park, the midfielder connected with it sweetly, leaving James stranded - a real goal-of-the-season contender for the Blackburn Rovers loanee.

However, the Magpies weren't done yet. Warren Clarke delivered a fine ball across at pace, which Momodou Touray (with his first touch) guided into the top corner with his head.

A big win takes Chorley three points behind Chester and with the next game up being King's Lynn Town away, Andy Preece's side will be looking to keep the pressure up.
