THIS Saturday, in line with our Vanarama National League North fixture vs South Shields, the club will be giving its full backing in support of World Cancer Day.
World Cancer Day is on February 4, and to help raise awareness of this, we will be using this Saturday's game as a platform to support it - all whilst using the new theme of #unitedbyunique.
50% of people diagnosed with cancer will survive for ten-years or more.
Early diagnosis and treatment greatly improves survival rates. However, only 55% of cancers are detected early.
We want to help change that by encouraging those at most risk to engage in checks and seek treatment early.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men; one in eight men will get prostate cancer.
If you are over 50, black, or have a family history of the disease then your risk is even higher. One in four black men will get testicular cancer. #checkyourrisk.
Tests for Prostate Cancer can involve a simple blood test.
Working in conjunction with the Chorley FC Community Foundation, we want to encourage those attending the game to wear pink to show support.
