WE’RE back on the road this Tuesday to take on Blyth Spartans in the Vanarama National League North.

The Magpies claimed their third win in a row on Saturday afternoon, beating Scarborough Athletic 1-0 thanks to a Josh Popoola second-half strike to book their place in the third round of the FA Isuzu Trophy.

"We want to be in the competition and we want to do well, we've seen some results today where a number of teams have gone out from our league, especially towards the top - they've probably rested a few...

“We made some changes but were still strong. It’s all about getting through to the next round and we did that in a tough game in difficult conditions." -Andy Preece.

Graham Fenton's Blyth Spartans currently sit 17th in the Vanarama National League North, eight points behind the Magpies having played a game more.

Blyth haven't won a single of their last five games, (four draws, one defeat). Their top-goalscorer is JJ Hooper (five).

Our last meeting at Croft Park was back in February, coming on top 1-2 thanks to goals from Willem Tomlinson and Jack Sampson.
