WE’RE off on our travels this Tuesday as we make the long journey up north take on Scarborough in the Vanarama National League North.
The Magpies' fixture on Saturday away at Banbury United unfortunately fell victim to the weather as the Banbury Plant Hire Stadium was waterlogged on the morning of the game, with zero chance of play taking place on it at the weekend following a pitch inspection.
The squad train on Saturday afternoon (David Airey)
Our playing squad were kept busy by manager Andy Preece despite the postponement, training at West Way Sports Village in preparation for the midweek fixture at the Flamingo Land Stadium.
Chorley have an extremely busy month of matches ahead with back-to-back Saturday and Tuesday games throughout the entirety of November to contend with.
Scarborough Athletic currently occupy 17th place in the Vanarama National League North table. The Seadogs have had a very mixed bag in terms of their start to the 2023/24 campaign but have began to pick up better results over the last month.
Frank Mulhern is currently their top-goalscorer for the season (four), a few of our supporters may remember his wonderstrike at Victory Park last season for Farsley Celtic.
The Seadogs come into this fixture off the back of an impressive 1-1 draw to League Two side Forest Green, who themselves couldn't grab an equaliser until the 93rd minute.
