CHORLEY FC are delighted to announce that Mike Calveley has put pen to paper on a new, long-term deal to extend his stay with the football club.

Mike signed for the Magpies back in July 2020 after leaving fellow National League North side, Curzon Ashton and has made 181 competitive appearances to date.

The 25-year old hit double figures for goals last season, his best campaign in-front of goal as a Magpie. Mike has already scored twice in 2024/25, taking his total tally up to 19 for the club.

First team manager, Andy Preece, had this to say upon completing the deal.

"Calvs has been a highly consistent performer over the past few seasons.

Last season was his best so far and although he signed a contract earlier last season he deserves a new contract.

We are trying to build a squad who will stay together and progress the club over the next four or five seasons and Calvs will be a key part of this. I am delighted he's agreed to sign a new deal with us."

Mike, had the following message to add having signed.

"It was a no-brainer to extend my stay with the club when an offer was put on the table.

I've loved my time here so far, I feel like I'm continuing to develop as a player and Chorley is the right place for me to keep kicking on."

Mike will of course be available in our squad to take on Alfreton Town this Saturday as the Magpies look to build on their 1-0 win against Needham Market last weekend.

Congratulations Mike, we look forward to seeing even more of you in the famous Black & White stripes!
