FOLLOWING a huge win away from home on Saturday afternoon at Aggborough against Kidderminster Harriers, the Magpies are back on home soil; this time to take on Brackley Town.
The Saints will be out for revenge after Chorley took all three points at St James’s Park earlier in the season. Jack Sampson scored both goals in the game, both of which were penalties.
The Opponents
Brackley have three wins from their last five outings, most recent of which came against Peterborough Sports, a 1-0 home win.
However, both of their defeats have come on the road, with Hereford and Scunthorpe United winning 3-2 against Tuesday's visitors.
Chorley will be facing a familiar opponent; former striker Connor Hall.
A former Magpie, and brother of Lewis at Newcastle United, had a fantastic spell at the club and is currently Brackley Town's top goalscorer this season and recently scooped the monthly Player of the Division accolade.
The centre forward has 12 goals so far and four assists, and the Magpies, like in the away trip, will look to keep Hall quiet again.
Matt Lowe is also leading the way on the assists charts this season for the Saints with six.
The Manager
Gavin Cowan is the man in charge. The former defender took charge of the club last season after a two-year break from management after AFC Telford United.
Cowan oversaw Telford for three years before leaving by mutual consent.
Under his lead last season, Brackley finished the campaign just above Chorley in third, so this will be a stern test for the Magpies.
In addition, Cowan had a good footballing career playing at Shrewsbury Town from 2005 to 2007 and played for several clubs before retiring at Telford United in 2018.
