WE’RE at home for the second weekend running this Saturday as we welcome King’s Lynn Town to the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium.
The Magpies fell to a disappointing defeat last time out against newly-promoted Warrington Town, Connor Woods’s first-half goal for The Yellows was enough to secure all three points for the visitors a week ago.
Jack Sampson fires at goal against Warrington Town (David Airey)
King’s Lynn Town got as far as the playoffs last season and have come into the 2023/24 campaign as one of a handful of sides fancied to be right up there again this time around.
Lynn, like Chorley are still yet to get a win on the board so far this season having drawn three and lost once. (2-2 vs Hereford, 3-0 vs Chester, 1-1 vs Curzon Ashton & 1-1 vs Gloucester City).
Our last meeting with The Linnets was one that remains fresh in the memory of all Chorley supporters, albeit for the wrong reasons - a 1-0 defeat that played a huge part in defining our season, Billy Whitehouse’s “goal that was never given,” and the Gold Omotayo goal that followed from the same phase of play to decide the game.
