FOLLOWING another unfortunate postponement at the weekend, the Magpies are back on home turf, where they take on Peterborough Sports under the lights on Tuesday night.

Chorley came out on top on the season's opening day away at PIMS Park, with Momodou Touray scoring a calm penalty into the bottom corner to secure all three points.

The Opponents

The Turbines sit 14th in the Vanarama National League North at the moment. Having registered an important win away at Needham Market last Wednesday, the visitors come into this one full of confidence.

However, PSL have not been in the best of form as of late, with two wins in their last five games.

Before their defeat away at Southport, they were unbeaten in their last six, having an impressive four-game drawing streak.

Michael Gyasi is the club's top goalscorer so far this season for the Turbines, scoring an impressive seven goals this campaign.

As for the players creating these chances, three players are joint on the assist chart. Gyasi has three assists, while Dion Sembie-Ferris and Oisin Gallagher follow with three.

Gyasi will certainly be one to watch and be one of the biggest threats this season with an eye for goal and creativity.

The Manager(s)

Managerial duties are shared between Michael Gash and Luke Steele.

Gash still stands as player-manager and has a coveted career that has spanned the footballing pyramid, both in the football league and non-league.

Statistically, the 37-year-old had his best stints in front of goal at Cambridge City, Cambridge United and King's Lynn Town. This is his first job in management.

Steele is also new to management after having a successful career in football. He played in goal and joined clubs such as Manchester United, Panathinaikos, West Bromwich Albion, Barnsley, and Nottingham Forest.

Notably, Steele played in the Europa League with Panathinaikos and made just over 66 appearances for the Greek club.

As well as playing in goal, the former Panathinaikos goalkeeper also had a stint up front.

Scoring two goals as a striker at Deeping Rangers, which is not bad for a former goalkeeper.

A word from Preecy

A game we’re really looking forward to, under the lights, back at home, league action and the start of a really busy, and tricky period. We’ve three games in a row at home and we’re relishing the test of Peterborough Sports to start things off. They were excellent on the opening day of the season and we know the threats they pose.”
