CHORLEY finished off the Easter weekend with two wins from two on Easter Monday with a 2-0 win at the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium thanks to goals from Jack Sampson and Adam Henley.
The Magpies came out of the blocks quickly on the front-foot and looked to grab an early goal from the get go, three corners inside the opening ten minutes and a half-chance of a header from Mark Ellis a sign of things to come in the pattern of the game.
Blyth did have the ball in the back of the net after 24 minutes but referee Oliver Noonan blew up for a blatant foul inside the box, whilst Andy Preece's side continued to knock on the door with serious attacking intent up the other end.
Chorley didn't have to wait much longer before getting on the scoresheet though, Justin Johnson with a scintiating, powerful run to beat past three Blyth defenders before Spartans goalkeeper Michael Hogan wiped the former out and gave referee Noonan no choice but to point to the spot.
JACK SAMPSON stepped up from 12-yards, firing it home at the second time of asking (after being forced to retake his spot-kick), to give the Magpies the lead on 32 minutes.
ADAM HENLEY then doubled the hosts' lead right before the break, capping off an excellent move to head in from Frankie Maguire's pin-point cross after the former began the move by slotting through Maguire himself.

Adam Blakeman very nearly pulled off the spectacular seconds after the restart, spotting Hogan off his line and going for goal from just inside the Blyth half that had the goalkeeper scampering backwards to keep his effort out.
Chorley continued to push for a third goal while Blyth refused to roll over despite the scoreline, Matt Urwin kept largely quiet for much of the 90 minutes with four saves in total that were of no real difficulty to him.
The Magpies remain third in the Vanarama National League North with just four games to go in the regular season.
