CHORLEY ran-out 0-2 winners in what was a tough, physical test against Northern Premier League side, Ashton United thanks to goals from Momodou Touray and a trialist.
The Magpies got off to the perfect start, inside two minutes, Momodou Touray with an unbelievable strike, controlling the ball with his chest before firing in on the volley from 25-yards out.
Andy Preece's side looked to make their early attacking momentum count and Tom Carr came close to doubling the lead, only for Sam Baird to cut out the danger at the last second.
More pressure was put on the Robins' backline and it told, Trialist A with a strike from distance following a good attacking move that wrong-footed Conor O' Keefe to find the far-corner.
Chorley continued to push on in search of a third and Touray very nearly grabbed his second goal of the afternoon, firing just wide on the turn inside the area.

Following the restart, the hosts began to grow into the game with good spells of posession in midfield, however, the Magpies continued to have the better of the chances - Touray again with a shot off from Horbury's cut-back, well saved.
Trialist A almost wheeled away celebrating a second goal of his own minutes later, only to see his effort from 20-yards deflect behind off a defender when it looked destined to ripple the back of the net.
Matt Urwin was kept relatively quiet for much of the afternoon, though, made a fantastic, point-blank save to deny Darius Osei a goal back in the game.
All in all, another good workout in the legs for the Magpies who will next take on a Manchester City XI in their final pre-season friendly, this Tuesday.
