THE Magpies' unbeaten run in pre-season came to an end on Tuesday evening as Ian Evatt's side came out on top, eventually winning 0-4 on the night to reclaim the Harold Taylor Memorial Trophy.
Bolton got themselves off to the perfect start inside the opening five minutes, Aaron Morley converting from the spot sending Matt Urwin the wrong way after a Chorley player was adjudged to have handled inside the penalty area.
From there, the remained of the first-half played out fairly evenly without any real chances of note for either side.
A couple of changes were made by Andy Preece at the break but, the Magpies then were unfortunate to concede from a corner, an own-goal deflecting off a Chorley player last before going into the far-corner.

Nelson Khumbeni then bagged a third for the visitors only minutes later, twisting, turning, then placing the ball into the far-corner past Urwin.
The Magpies responded well to conceding, Warren Clarke planting a cross on Jack Sampson's head, who then, headed just wide.
Chorley continued to push on in an attempt to get back into the game, but, despite their efforts, then went on to concede another goal from the spot, Victor Adeboyeio sending Urwin the wrong way.
All in all, another good workout in the legs for Andy Preece's side, but, defeat on the night as it finished 04.
Attendance: 2,455.
