CHORLEY fell to a defeat at the hands of Chester at the Deva Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It would be a tough opening 20 minutes for the Magpies as the hosts started on the front-foot full of confidence.
Chorley started the game with a ball over the top by Harvey Smith who played it from the back through to Danny Ormerod who attempted to hit it on the volley but would see his chance cleared.
Then, 22 minutes in, the hosts got themselves infront, breaking on the counter-attack Charlie Caton played a perfect low driven cross along the floor which was sweetly placed away into the far corner by Tom Peers.
Seven minutes later there was a big shout for a penalty, as Warren Clarke went down under a challenge, but, referee Harry Jones waved away any appeals for a spot-kick.
The second-half was just as tough as the first, the Magpies were able to win a corner five minutes into the second half but unable to capitalise on the corner.
20-minutes later the hosts would extend there lead with a free-kick delivered from deep by Declan Weeks, which landed perfectly on the head of Harrison Burke who headed it home past Matt Urwin.
Chorley would then get one back with five minutes left to play. Danny Ormerod's shot parried into the path of Tom Carr to slot past the rebound past Ely Harrison in goal.
