IT would prove to be the second goalless draw on a Tuesday evening in as many weeks at the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium, where Oxford City would take home a point on the road back down south with them.

An early stop in the game saw Matt Urwin get treatment after bravely diving at the feet of Josh Parker to smother the forward away from the goal.

Thankfully for the Magpies, Urwin was cleared to continue, albeit with a cut to his face.

The first-half had limited opportunities, with Courtney Senior having the best chance in the 25th minute.

Senior did well to control the ball on the edge of the box, hit the ball true and towards the far-corner, but Kai McKenzie-Lyle made a fine save to deny the Rochdale loanee from the wing.

After the fourth official, Andy Sykes, indicated there would be four added minutes, Josh Parker would rattle the post.

Corie Andrews played a perfect ball across and it looked destined for Parker to find the corner to give the visitors the lead, but thankfully for Chorley he failed to hit the target.

Following the interval, City came out firing.

Scott Wilson was forced into a one-on-one situation to deny Zac McEachran an almost certain goal with some superb defending and a perfectly executed block.

In the 73rd minute, Urwin denied Parker once again.

It was a stunning save from close range to keep the Magpies level.

At the death, Chorley had one last opportunity.

On his long-awaited return, Craig Hewitt found fellow substitute Momodou Touray, who then did a little flick to find Mike Calveley, who hit the ball sweetly, but just over the top of the bar to see the game end goalless.

Chorley: Urwin, Moore, Ellis, Wilson, Clarke (Nolan 76'), Calveley, Horbury, Eze (Blakeman 66'), Senior, Hall (Touray 71'), Carr (Hewitt 76'). Unused: Campbell.
