CHORLEY got themselves back to winning ways on Tuesday evening, a comprehensive 3-0 win against Darlington thanks to goals from George Horbury and a brace from Momodou Touray.

The game started quickly, Chorley coming out on the front-foot and eventually getting their rewards on the eighth minute, George Horbury with an exceptional strike with his weaker, left-foot leaving Pete Jamieson to pick the ball out of his net.

Darlington looked to respond quickly, Will Hatfield letting fly on the volley and forcing Matt Urwin into a smart save down low in the process.

Horbury then went close to adding a second goal, before the Magpies were awarded a penalty, Craig Hewitt beating two defenders before being pulled down inside the box.

Momodou Touray stepped up from 12-yards and made no mistake, calmly slotting the ball home from the spot to double Andy Preece's sides' lead.

Chorley went close to adding a third before the break, Mark Ellis denied by an excellent save from Jamieson.

Jamieson continued to be kept busy after the restart; Jack Moore coming close to scoring his first goal for the club but, again, the goalkeeper stood firm to keep the deficit at two-goals.

Just after the hour mark and the Magpies had their third on the night, Touray, capitalising on a lapse in concentration at the back and powerfully slammed home his second goal of the evening.

Chorley continued to be relentless in attack and again, Darlington had Jamieson to thank after he kept out a very powerful shot from Blakeman.

The visitors, to their credit, continued to push on for a way back into the game but had to settle for half-chances that they just could not take, leaving Chorley with all three points to keep them in second place in the Vanarama National League North table.

Chorley: Urwin, Moore, Ellis, Smith, Blakeman, Nolan (Henley, 85'), Calveley (Eze, 76'), Horbury, Clarke (Bird, 90+3'), Hewitt, Touray (Carr, 81').

Goals: Horbury (8'), Touray (27', 61')

Bookings: Forbes (45'), Calveley (64'), Smith (75'), Ellis (76').
