ON a cold, wet Saturday afternoon, Chorley took all three points on the road, thanks to two superb goals from Tom Carr and Mark Ellis.

It was a fast start at Aggborough. Six minutes in, Carr put the Magpies a goal to the good.

Warren Clarke was outstanding in the build-up, beating two Harriers defenders before delivering a pinpoint cross, which the number ten dispatched brilliantly from close range.

Kiddy bounced back swiftly and got back on terms relatively quickly, Ashley Hemmings slotting home a Caleb Richards cross from the left-hand side, which left Matt Urwin stranded.

Chorley’s number one was forced into a big save just after the half-hour mark after a cross from the left hand side Zak Brown met it and the ball looked destined to find the far corner but for a fantastic, full-stretch stop to deny him.

Like the first half the Magpies started the second on the front-foot. Blakeman delivered a pinpoint cross which Mike Calveley expertly met and directed towards goal.

However, similar to Urwin, Christian Dibble pulled off a fine save at full stretch to deny Calveley.

Following the hour mark, the veteran, Ellis, fired the Magpies back in front.

Time stood stilll as the ball fell perfectly for Ellis, who smashed it into the far corner on his weaker left foot.

Six minutes left to play, and Blakeman smashed the crossbar from 30 yards out. A perfect freekick came agonisingly close to sealing all three points.

However, the Magpies stood firm and held onto a well-earned three points on the road.
