CHORLEY fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Marine AFC in Crosby on Tuesday night.
The Magpies started the game on the front-foot, though, chances of any note were few and far between for both sides in the early stages.
An opportunity fell to Craig Hewitt in the 20th minute, a free-kick from 25-yards that the 21-year old saw deflected behind for a corner.
Then, following the corner, Adam Blakeman delivered a perfect cross that landed on the head of Mike Calveley. It looked destined to loop into the top-right corner, but Matthew Corran saved.
Just before the half-hour mark, Blakeman took a chance from the half-way line, trying to catch out Corran in goal, but fortunately, he was able to get back in time and catch it.
Dubem Eze would come close to finding the opener in the 37th minute.

George Horbury cut back a perfect ball for the Bolton loanee, who struck it hard and low. Corran tipped it onto the post, which he gathered on the second attempt.
Five minutes before the break, Eze and Touray combined nicely, and Eze struck a shot away in the box that was saved well by the Marine keeper.
Just a minute later Marine would find the opener thanks to Enock Lusiama, who struck the ball home against the run of play.
Chorley came out after the restart with work to do and the hosts would continue how they started the first half with a goal just ten minutes after the restart following a corner.
It would be a back post-delivery, which would be headed back across the goal, seeing Sinclair-Smith hit on the half volley before fortuitously falling to Luisama, who would get his second goal of the night, bundling the ball in at the back-post.
Then, on 62 minutes, Marine would make it three-nil.
A penalty from Finlay Sinclair-Smith hit hard and low into the bottom right-hand corner past Matt Urwin.
Chorley will be looking to bounce back when the Magpies host Leamington at home on Saturday at the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium.
