CHORLEY fought hard right to the death to secure a well-fought our draw against Scunthorpe United thanks to Kole Hall's 85th minute strike.
Andy Preece's side had the better of the early opportunities, George Horbury and Jack Rice both looking bright in midfield. The latter stung the palms of Ross Fitzsimons with the first shot on target of the afternoon, albeit, a comfortable save at that.
Again, well into the contest with half an hour on the clock and it continued to be the Magpies who looked the more likely to break the deadlock, Brad Nicholson making a last ditch challenge to deny Rice a route to goal before Fitzsimons was forced into a smart stop to deny Craig Hewitt's shot from 25-yards.
Scunthorpe began to come forward in numbers and after Warren Clarke was forced to clear a header off the line, the hosts' persistence eventually paid dividends right on half-time, Danny Whitehall looping in a header past Matt Urwin at the back post.
Chorley made changes in search of a way back in to the game, though chances after the restart were few and far between for both.
With five minutes to go, came the moment the Magpies had been waiting for as Mark Ellis flicked the ball from a free-kick into the path of Kole Hall who slammed the ball into the far-corner past a helpless Fitzsimons to grab his first goal for the club whilst securing an excellent point at the Attis Arena.
