CHORLEY FC are delighted to confirm that Warren Clarke has signed on with the Magpies following his recent departure from Northern Premier League side, Ashton United.

Having come through the youth ranks at Sheffield Wednesday as a scholar after initially joining the club as a 12-year old, Warren landed his first professional contract with the Owls back in 2015 which was later extended through to the summer of 2019.

The now 26-year old moved on to pastures new upon the expiration of that contact and signed for fellow Vanarama National League North side, Buxton.

Warren was a key-player for the Bucks over the sustained period of time, making over 100 appearances for them over a four-year period. Unfortunately, his time with the Bucks was brought to an abrupt end having sustained an ACL injury which required surgery and meant over 12-months on the side-lines.

Following a full recovery, Warren signed for Northern Premier League side, Ashton United - playing there through to the end of the 2023/24 season, making over 20 appearances for the Robins.

Able to play in a multitude of different positions, Warren brings plenty of versatility to the table as a full-back, midfielder and out on the wing.

Manager, Andy Preece, had the following to say upon completion of the deal.

"Warren is able to play in a number of positions mainly on the left side but can also play on right.

He will give us balance and is very quick and direct.

He was unlucky to get an injury at Buxton just when he was ready to kick back into the football league.

Warren was the player Vermo constantly raved about when he was manager at Buxton.

Given a clean run there’s no doubt he can find that form again with us.

A player who gets fans off their seats when he gets the ball.

As with all our signings he’s hungry to progress, improve and help us achieve our goals together."

Congratulations Warren and welcome to Chorley Football Club, we can't wait to see you out on the pitch in the famous black and white stripes!
